What is individual therapy?
Individual therapy is also called individual counseling, psychotherapy or treatment. It is a form of psychological treatment in which a client works on personal concerns and goals with a trained, licensed mental health provider. Working one on one with a supportive therapist can help to bring about a longing for change, equip you with tools for navigating life, impart greater clarity and personal insight. Your therapist provides safe space and freedom from judgment to practice at being in a relationship with healthy boundary modeling. The information you share with your psychotherapist is confidential.

What is Group therapy?
Group therapy sessions happen in a setting where several participants with similar interests or concerns meet together. They are led by one or more psychotherapists with specialized training. These groups can be open, meaning that new members can start at any time and they may or may not have a set ending date. They can also be a closed group and in this case new participants are not allowed to join the group. This could be because the topic is only for a specific population or because there is a set end date and/or a sequence that can be interrupted
These meetings cultivate connection, empathy, and emotional support through group learning around a specific topic. Together, attendees learn new skills that help them navigate the human condition.
